The motion curve of the indexer cam includes three types, deformed table curve (MT), modified sinusoid (MS), and deformation velocity curve (MCV50):
 
The deformation table shape curve is mainly applied to the multi-station transmission of high speed and light load. The speed from high to low buffer is shorter, and if the load is heavy, the indexer will be damaged. 
The shape of the sinusoidal curve is smoother and less steep than the deformed table curve. This type of curve is suitable for the processing standard of most indexer cams. It is also the mainstream of the common indexer cam production on the market. During the cam rotation process, the speed is High to low reaches a reasonable cycle. On the one hand, it does not have a large impact on the cam mechanism. On the other hand, this conventional design is more in line with the needs of most multi-station transmission speeds.
The shape of the deformation velocity curve is suitable for the heavy-duty transmission system. The buffer period of the dynamic stop is longer, the indexer changes from high speed to low speed, and after reaching a certain speed, the shape of the constant speed is maintained, and the impact is reduced. Force, the overall speed is slow, so it is suitable for high-load automatic transmission systems.
