For automation equipment manufacturers, besides meeting the use parameters, product life is a more concerned issue, because too small and medium-sized enterprises in the purchase of cam indexers, the main consideration is cost-effective, of course, from the point of view of cost savings, product life really means the value that the cam indexer can create. One of the factors affecting the service life of the cam indexer is that the indexer is adjusted in the process of use. The cam indexer is a high-precision workpiece, which is carefully assembled and adjusted by the manufacturer before leaving the factory. Because of its high precision, any inappropriate adjustment method will affect the accuracy of the cam indexer. The change of accuracy will result in impact, noise, damage to the cam indexer, fail to achieve the expected speed and bearing capacity, resulting in wear and tear, thus shortening the life of the cam indexer. So how to adjust the cam indexer?
Rotary indexing and positioning
1. After using for a period of time, the distance between axes needs to be adjusted.
The gap of the cam indexer will appear in the positioning working area through long time use and wear. In this case, the gap can be eliminated by adjusting the distance between the axles. Another method is to eliminate the gap by synchronously adjusting the eccentric sleeve at both ends of the input shaft.
2. In addition, the deviation of the position of input and output axes will occur in production, which also needs to be solved by adjusting:
Adjust the locking nuts on both sides of the cam or the bearing caps on both sides of the input shaft to adjust the axial position of the cam indexer. The axial position of the splitting wheel can also be adjusted by adjusting the bearing on both sides of the output shaft or the locking nut on the back end. In addition, it is necessary to remind manufacturers that cam indexers are carefully adjusted by professional engineers when they leave the factory. Users are not allowed to adjust privately in order to prevent misadjustment. If the better way to adjust is to contact the manufacturer, it is also the protection of the product.
